Karina Karaeva is independent curator, art critic, head of cine and video art department from 2006 to 2016 (National Centre for contemporary arts, Moscow, Russia). Education: Institute of cinematography named after S. Gerasimov (film critic, film theory), Ecole nationale d'art, Paris. Has special theoretical and practical course in Mediaartlab School, Russian State University for the Humanities, British Higher School of Art & Design, Higher School of Economics. Make a thesis on Sots-art and National Cinema from 1970s to 2000s in Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris, France. Made a film during Harun Farocki workshop in Moscow, assistant director in film Oleg and the Rare Arts (2016, film director Andres Duque). Participate as an actrice in films by Petr Zhukov, Arthur Aristakisayan and others.
