The presentation of Kote Mikaberidze, a book published by the Sa.Ga. Publishing for Society, will be held on the occasion of the exhibition dedicated to the Georgian filmmaker, screenwriter, actor, dubbing director and painter Konstantine (Kote) Mikaberidze (1896-1973).
The exhibition will feature photos and written materials as well as Kote Mikaberidze's paintings and graphic works, part of which will be exhibited publicly for the first time.
Visitors will have an opportunity to see all the surviving and available films made by Kote Mikaberidze, such as Chemi Bebia (My Grandmother) (1929), Hasani (Hassan) (1932), Kajeti (1936) ), Porposti (Outpost) (1941), Albanetis Delegatsia Sakartveloshi (The Albanian Delegation in Georgia) (1952) and others. The films will be shown on monitors at the exhibition hall.
The book is the first substantial monograph about the director. It includes unique documents from 14 different archives pertaining to Kote Mikaberidze's art and biography. Chapter Repression 1957-1959 presents previously unpublished and unknown documents about the arrest and trial of Mikaberidze.
